Stearman Military Trainer by AerodromeRC

This is the AerodromeRC 48” span PT-Military Trainer. It really is a fun airplane to build and can host a wide range of detail. It is a big enough model to feel "substantial", but small enough to fit in my Beetle in one piece. I chose an AXI 2826 to spin the propeller powered by a 4000mAh 4S Lipo. I built it pretty closely the plans except for the horizontal and vertical stabilizers, to which I added a bit of thickness and sanded in a symmetrical airfoil. I also added a big battery hatch with six cooling holes for those 90+ deg flying days. The kit goes together very easily and is extremely scale. The airfoil and number of ribs are scale as are the fuselage and tail surfaces. The kit comes with the parts to build the dummy radial engine and when you order the kit you can specify either the nine or seven cylinder. Mine is covered in Ultracote and is done in the early Navy scheme. I have not flown this one yet, but reports from others are that this is a stable, predictable flying airplane. Last year I entered the Stearman into a masters building contest judged on looks and construction and it took 1st place! It truly is a winner!
